Relax With Me

Good evening everyone! I thought that as finals are right around the corner for some of us it would be a great time to give you a few of my tried and true methods of stress relief. I mean life in January really starts to pick up. If you're like me I have finals during the last two weeks of January (I actually had one today! Let's hope it went well ;) and once finals are over and second semester starts the year really begins to fly! Throw in a solid schedule packed with dance competitions and the last hurrah of the ski season and you may find yourself a tad bit stressed. So, here are a few ways I deal with that pesky post holidays stress.

1 // Listen to some tunes! There is nothing better than good music to help you de-stress. Even better: Crank up the jam and have a dance party in your room or with some friends. Getting your heart pumping is a natural stress reliever that always does the trick for me. Here are a few of my song suggestions for you guys: Justin Bieber's new album Purpose (it is ah-mazing), Coldplay's Adventure of a Lifetime, Stressed Out by 21 Pilots, and (an old favourite) Round and Round by Imagine Dragons.

2 // Get cozy in your favourite loungewear. There is nothing better than a cup of tea, a good book, and a cozy sweater. This cute cable knit is a classic, but this one from Aritzia is super funky and in very cool for layering. I also borrowed my momma's new Uggs for this post because they are so cozy!

3 // Pamper yourself! Run a hot bubble bath, light some candles (the one depicted is Blackberry Absinthe, get it here), and just relax. Once you haul yourself out of the toasty bath and slip on your robe use a rich cream like L'Occitane's Cherry blossom lotion. Be sure to show your nails a little love as well!

4 // Pick up a book! And it doesn't have to be a novel! I've been loving colouring books. They are fantastic for helping you calm down before bed.

5 // Get your sleep. You'd be surprised how many people actually think cramming for tests or finishing homework late at night is a good idea. If you are truly stressed that you are not going to finish something the best thing to do is put it away and rationally schedule times where you can finish it. When dealing with stress the best thing to do is sleep on your issues. You'll wake up revitalized and rational and will figure it out, I promise!

I hope these five tips help with any stress you've been dealing with; be it bills, assignments or finals, life will go on! You can do it! And as always, thanks for reading!
