Hello everyone! You probably already notice something a tad bit different about this post by the pictures you just saw- am I right? Actually, I'm not who you think is writing this post- Gwyn and I have switched blogs for the day and I am bursting with excitement! For those of you who don't know me, please allow me to briefly introduce myself:
Hey! I'm Alicia and I'm a fashion blogger with The Girl With The Heels. It was through my blog that I met Gwyn, who I can now say is one of my closest friends. We have done a couple blog collaborations together already, and in the past we've written small blurbs for each other's blogs. As great as that turned out, today Gwyn and I are back and ready to take on a totally different approach for our collab today! We've traded places for the day and I am delighted to announce that I will be writing this post for Gwyn's blog, 17 Degrees. Likewise, today Gwyn has taken over my blog and has written a tiptop quality post that I know you will love! Once you're all finished reading this post (or don't feel like reading it anymore haha!), I'll drop a link to Gwyn's post over on my blog at the very end! Okay, now that the intro is done, let's get right into it! (I never was good at coming up with smooth-sounding transitional sentences.)
Around Halloween, Gwyn and I made a trip to the movies together to see The Visit. (If you would like to read a little bit more on that, Gwyn wrote a fantastic post about it here.) It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for the both of us! Just a while ago, I saw the trailer for the movie Krampus, and I must say I was profoundly intrigued by it! Some days later, Gwyn texted me and asked me if I wanted to go see it with her. "YES!" The only thing that tops going to the movies to watch a picture that you really want to see, is going with a really good friend!
Since the temperature has dropped drastically since the last time we went together (these photos were taken on a bitterly cold day- our hands almost froze while trying to take these!), we layered on our winter gear and headed outside. Not wanting to show up in some parka but still be able to keep warm, I decided to layer up with a pair of black jeggings from my closet and my brand new Polo sweater! I'm just so enamoured by the cut of the sweater and the way it fits me- it's awesome! Adding to that, I pulled out my usual heels, pearls and ring- you know, the essentials;) From there, I put on my utmost favourite winter jacket. It's just the right hue of lavender purple, and I adore the fit of it so much. When this jacket was first purchased, I was quite doubtful about how often it would actually get worn. It was a gorgeous shade of lavender purple but I didn't really think that the purple would match with any clothes presently in my closet. I guess I was wrong:) Since it was a harsh, cold day, I decided to wear a purple plaid scarf that I picked up at Barney's at The Grove in Los Angeles. Scarves are a great accessory for colder climates because they serve a dual function. Keeping you stylishly chic while nice and toasty? Talk about killing two birds with one stone! (Or rather, a scarf;)
As far as my thoughts go with the movie, it was good. Nothing super duper outstanding, but it wasn't horrible either. It definitely would classify as more on the suspenseful side, but it isn't really scary. If you are thinking of going to see it, I totally think you should! There's this plot-twist ending that you won't even see coming! (Or perhaps maybe now you will because I just informed you about it;) Recently I also went to see Sisters with my aunt and it was fabulous! There wasn't a single scene where I was not cracking up! Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are seriously the dream team! (I'm also a die-hard Mean Girls fan) Go see both!
Now to conclude:( I sincerely hope you've enjoyed reading this post just as much as Gwyn and I have enjoyed planning it. While I am well aware of the fact that this does not even measure up close to the flawless content that Gwyn constantly puts out, I do hope I did her justice. Also, as promised at the beginning, here is the link that will take you to my blog where Gwyn has written her post- please have a look! Since Gwyn is writing it, it has to be good:)
This was so much fun! Would love to do it again soon;)
ReplyDeleteFor sure! I had a blast as well!
