Hello hello! Today consisted of one of my favourite pastimes, shopping with my mom!
There is nothing better than spending a little quality time with your mom. My mom and I have always had a close relationship and a large part of our relationship definitely consists of our love of clothing and shopping! I truly have my mom to thank for teaching me to take pride in myself and to always put my best self out there. It is my mom who taught me that to look your best is to feel your best and I give her all the thanks in the world for that.
Anyways, this morning we grabbed a quick breakfast and hopped on the subway. Our destination? Union Square. Once we disembarked and headed up into the sunlight we split from the boys and went to our first shop of the day, Nordstrom Rack! We didn't have a ton of luck there, but I did get a cute dress from Free People for 60% off! (Let me know if you would like me to do a NYC haul in the comments!)
From Union Square we headed up to the Flatiron District. Before I go any further, I must say that the Flatiron District is my absolute favourite place in Manhattan. I love the old architecture and the beautiful stores on every block. We took a look at a few shops and picked up a few cute pieces from Madewell (one of my personal favourite stores that we do not have in Canada.)
For lunch we went to Eataly and although it was crazy busy, we got some delicious focaccia bread sandwiches (Mmmmmm) and nutella lattes! Once we had fuelled up we walked to Fifth avenue.
We hit a few more stores, but the newest experience for me was
One thing I did for the first time in New York was go to a warehouse sale! I had received an email in advance notifying me of a Rebecca Minkoff warehouse sale in New York before we left but never thought anything of it...until we stumbled across it on Fifth ave! I love love love my Rebecca Minkoff Avery Cross-body with all black hardware and saw a great opportunity to get my hands on another RM bag. I found one that I am in love with for such a steal! You can still buy it here (although mine is navy)!
We hit a few more shops as the sun began to set and grabbed a chocolate from Godiva in Rockefeller Centre. As we made our way back to the hotel I couldn't help but think, man, I am so glad to be here with my beautiful mom shopping on Fifth ave, I couldn't have asked for a better day! But, in reality it does't matter where you are or what you're doing, what matters is who you're with.
Here's to more fun times to come!
