Travel With Me // New York Day 2

Hello everyone, I'm am beyond exited to be brining back my Travel With Me series. The location? New York City! Let's jump right in!

This morning we were up bright and early, but for good reason. We went to a taping of Live with Kelly and Michael! It was amazing. I've always had this dream of going to see a live taping of a show, so of course once I did a little research and found out how to get tickets I waited patiently for weeks until they finally showed up. I reserved them as soon as I could and was ecstatic! Now, I did reserve them about a month in advance, but it's amazing how fast the time comes when you're busy.

Anyway, this morning we were up super early because the check in time for Kelly and Michael was 7:45 and my hair, makeup and outfit had to be perfect for such a special event ;). I woke up around 6:15 (4:15 Edmonton time, yawn ;). But, it was more than worth it to see what a live taping really looks like! It was so neat to see Kelly and Michael in real life, I mean I see them on TV every morning so to actually be there in person was unreal! Even better? The tickets were free! How you may ask? They are actually free for anyone, you can request up to four tickets online and be sure to get there early to get the best seats. You can request them here (the tickets usually go up around a month before the show but sell out very fast!).

Pizza before museum of course!

After the show, which wrapped up around 10:45 (we actually got to stay to watch an extra taping!), we walked through central park to The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). We were all so excited as none of us had ever been there before. Here's a quick tip for travelling to New York, if you know you're going to be going to a few of New York's most popular attractions you may want to invest in a New York City Pass. In it you get a great deal on 6 New York attractions, I've linked it if you'd like to check it out! Anyway, we used our New York City Passes and went to MoMA and honestly, I loved it, but it was kind of strange ;D Here are a few pictures!

After MoMA we paid a quick visit to Rockefeller and hopped on the long elevator up to the Top of the Rock. Personally I think the views from the top of the Rockefeller Centre are the best in Manhattan mainly because you can see the Empire State Building on one side and all of Central Park on the other. Just Beautiful!

The next stop was Grand Central Station (one of my personal favourites!) I love the hustle of Grand Central Station, it feels like the heart of New York supplied by arteries and veins transporting the blood of New York in and out of the city. As we were leaving the station I had a last minute request, to find Magnolia Bakery! Thank goodness we did because that banana pudding was amazing, I'm dreaming about it even now mmmmm...

A piece of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree!

The final item on the agenda? The New York Public Library! I thought it was beautiful, but the main library was closed so we weren't able to get the entire experience. Well, maybe next time ;)

After such a busy first day we decided to head back to the room a little early to get some shut eye before I assume will be a just as busy day tomorrow!

And as always, thanks for reading!
