Let's Fly // New York Day 1

Good evening everybody! While I am back from New York already I wrote all of these posts on the actual days I was there so they will be in present tense! I wish I was back already *sigh*

Hello! Today has been a very busy one. I woke up in Edmonton and now I'm sitting in our Manhattan hotel room writing this right now! Isn't it just crazy how you can wake up in one city and go to sleep in another over 3000 km away?! And going to sleep is what I will be doing as soon as I'm done writing this post because I must be up at ungodly hours tomorrow (I can't wait to tell you why!)

There isn't much to talk about today because the majority of it was confined to the greatest joy of going on vacation, air travel!

Okay maybe It's not the greatest joy, but it's definitely up there with long lines and insanely slow walkers (does anyone else loath slow walkers?) While air travel is not the greatest, I do have a few posts that can help you survive it, check them out here, here, and here!

After a few hours and delayed planes we finally got our first glimpse of the astounding New York City skyline. Once we collected our bags we hopped in a taxi and motored down to our hotel. My family tends to get a little "hangry" if we aren't fed in a reasonable amount of time so as soon as we had settled in (and I had a quick wardrobe change ;) we were off to a past Manhattan favourite, Joe's Shanghai for some mouth-watering soup dumplings.

Once we ate our fill and were feeling a little more like ourselves we made a pitstop in Times Square to get our first taste of Manhattan before heading back to our room.

All in all I would call today (even though it was pretty long) a huge success! I am looking forward to tomorrow and all that we have planned!

As always, thanks for reading!
