Travel With Me // New York Day 4

Good evening everyone! I feel like I've done enough intros so let's just hop right in :)

This morning we got up nice and early for a stroll through central park before attending to our reservation at the Tavern on the Green. It was so, so beautiful and the lighting made for fantastic family photos! While the food there was sub-par the beautiful glass walls and airy atmosphere made up for it in abundance. I got the french toast which, while pretty tasty, was a tad bit dry. Max got a delicious cinnamon bun though that I would highly recommend.

After we finished our meal we continued our walk through central park and found ourselves at the MET. I must say this museum was incredible! The sheer number of artifacts and paintings was unparalleled to anything I have ever seen. Max's favourite was the arms and armour section, filled with weaponry and suits of amour from a very long time ago.

After around two hours spent marvelling at Asian artifacts and European treasures we hopped on the subway and rode all the way down to Soho! I love the hipster atmosphere in Soho, from the funky shops to the cobblestone streets, there is definitely something for everyone here. I dragged the family into a bookstore that I had read about online called McNally Jackson. It had an espresso book machine! What is that you ask? It is a machine that can print and bind a paperback book in a matter of minutes, how cool is that?

Anyway, we also went to one of my past favourite stores, The Melissa Gallery store. I have been a fan of Melissa shoes for a long time now and when I found out there was a store in Soho, I was pumped! Basically Melissa shoes are made almost entirely out of plastic and they are BUBBLEGUM SCENTED. Ah so cute! I did pick up a pair of shoes there, but you will have to wait until Wednesday's post to find out ;)

How the boys like to shop ;)
Once we finished all of our shopping around Soho we were wiped. In an effort to set a step goal record on my fitbit we actually ended up walking all the way back up to our hotel. By the time we got back we were exhausted, I am snuggled in a cozy hotel bed right now actually!

I hope you enjoyed todays post and as always, thanks for reading!
