Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day! I am a very proud Canadian and I love Canada Day! In the spirit of Canada Day I would make a list of my 5 favourite Canadian things.

5 // Coffee Crisps Among other Chcolates

I am a chocolate junkie and a coffee junkie. Coffee Crisp chocolate bars have both. Life=made. My all time favourite chocolate bar is the Dairy Milk Pretzel and Peanut Butter bar, which is not technically Canadian, but is not available in the U.S

4 // Poutine

You might be noticing a trend here already (I love me my food ;), but poutine is worth all the hype it gets. Poutine is the heavenly combination of french fries, cheese curds and gravy. Oh man my mouth is watering just thinking about it *sigh*

3 // Money

Canada has the coolest money. While there are many jokes about how Canadian money looks like Monopoly money, I think other countries are just jealous. I mean who doesn't wish they had colourful, plastic money that may or may not be maple syrup scented ;)  

2 // The Mountains

I love being outside, no matter the season. My favourite part of Nature: the mountains. Canada has some great mountains (I mean we're no mount Everest, but we do have some pretty beautiful mountains of our own). I love hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. I love visiting Banff, Jasper, and my absolute favourite: Whistler. While I am a city girl, I must say that the mountains have a special place in my heart. 

1 // The People

I may be biased but I think Canadians are generally pretty polite, caring, and proud. We say please and thank you and we also say sorry...a lot. While I have met so many kind people in my travels to other countries I always find that there are things Canadians just do that are more considerate. I also love that most Canadians are willing to get out and enjoy the weather no matter how frigid it is. 



So, happy Canada Day! I don't want this post to come off as a dig at other people or countries, I just thought that I would point out what makes me proud to be a Canadian.
