Travel With Me // Whistler Day 1

I’m writing today’s post sitting in our air conditioned hotel room. The key part of that sentence, air conditioning. It is smoking hot here! Literally! While it’s a balmy 32 it is also extremely smokey due to drought and forest fires running rampant. Although the weather may not be optimal the atmosphere sure is!

This morning we hit the ferry from Nanimo and drove from the terminal to Whistler and checked into our hotel around 2. After all that travel we were excited to head out into the village for some shopping and “linner” (what I call the halfway point between lunch and dinner).

We had dinner at the Brewhouse (which was huge on the inside!) It was pretty good but very expensive. I got a pizza with chicken, procsutto, cheese, and sauce that I shared with Mom. Like I said it was good, but there are better, more affordable places to eat in Whistler.

After dinner we stopped by the grocery store and bought some ice-cream before heading back to our hotel, The Crystal Lodge. The Crystal Lodge is great, super central (like literally right in the village), the rooms are also really clean and nice. We are staying in a deluxe suite and it’s quite big! And, as an added bonus, our room has air conditioning (you would be surprised how many hotels, much fancier than ours, don’t have air conditioning). The only problem is it has a terrible pool. It’s very small and busy, which is pretty lousy on a hot day like today.

Now I’m writing this post as I watch Grey’s Anatomy and bask in the air conditioning. See you tomorrow!
